The Science and Soul Behind B.E. W.E.L.L. Women’s Retreat

True wellness is not only about nutrition and exercise. It is about feeling balanced, fulfilled, and empowered in every area of life. Women often carry unique mental, emotional, and physical burdens, balancing multiple roles while setting aside their own needs. The B.E. W.E.L.L. Women’s Retreat was designed to change that. Using the Indivisible Self Model of Wellness, this retreat provides a structured yet deeply personal approach to self-care, well-being, and transformation.

What is the Indivisible Self Model of Wellness?

Developed by Dr. Jane E. Myers and Dr. Thomas J. Sweeney, the Indivisible Self Model of Wellness is an evidence-based, holistic framework used in counseling and psychology to help individuals understand and enhance their well-being across multiple dimensions. Unlike approaches that focus only on physical health, this model emphasizes the interconnectedness of mental, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical well-being.

The model highlights five key factors that influence overall health:

  1. Creative Self–emotions, positive thinking, self-expression, work-life balance
  2. Coping Self – stress management, realistic beliefs, self-worth, emotional resilience
  3. Social Self – relationships, friendships, love, and connection
  4. Essential Self – spirituality, identity, personal meaning, and life purpose
  5. Physical Self – nutrition, movement, and body care

A Unique Element of the Retreat

In addition to group sessions and experiential practices, the B.E. W.E.L.L. Women’s Retreat includes one-on-one coaching sessions with the course facilitator. These sessions provide personalized guidance, helping participants apply wellness principles to their own lives in meaningful and lasting ways. By integrating both group and individual experiences, participants gain practical strategies to support long-term wellness for a lifetime.

Welcome to Wisely Reads, an enriching book series presented by Wisely Wellness, where we explore the realms of personal development and strength through literature. Our unique series unfolds over the year, aligning with the seasons, offering members a curated selection of three transformative books to engage with in the Summer, Fall, and Spring.
At Wisely Reads, we believe in the power of shared learning and the growth that comes from collective reflection. Members are invited to preregister for any of the three Zoom book clubs that resonate with their journey. Each book club spans 4-12 weeks, tailored to the depth and breadth of knowledge each selected book offers. Our sessions are a blend of teaching, open discussion, and interactive learning activities designed to foster an environment of growth and strength orientation. While we encourage reading along each week, attending without having caught up on the reading can be equally beneficial. We delve into the main concepts of each book, expanding on them to ensure they can be applied to enrich our everyday lives. This approach ensures that each session remains accessible and valuable, regardless of one’s progress with the assigned reading.

Wisely Reads is more than just a book club; it is a space for self-discovery and personal expansion. It encourages self-reflection and sharing insights within a growth-oriented framework; however, Wisely Reads studies are distinctly NOT therapy nor group therapy. While the group may offer therapeutic benefits, it is not a substitute for professional counseling. Members seeking a deeper dive into personal counseling are invited to book a consultation for services through our simple practice telehealth platform, ensuring a pathway to counseling is always within reach.
Join us on this seasonal journey, where each book opens the door to new perspectives, wisdom, and the opportunity to grow individually and as a part of a community dedicated to living well, loving deeply, and embracing wisdom- true to the philosophy of Wisely Wellness.
